Employee responsibilites

Manual Handling Guidelines

As an employee, you have a responsibility to work safely and follow health and safety rules in your workplace. To ensure you do, the law requires you to cooperate with your employer’s actions to identify tasks involving potential hazards and to assess and control the risk of hazards in your workplace.

You have a duty to:

participate n hazard indentification, risk assessment and risk control if your employer asks you.

follow any information, training and instruction you have received.

use the risk controls that have been provided by your employer.

You should also help make your workplace safe by participating in the consultation process between your employer and your Occupational Health and Safety representative.

If you have any concerns about your work, let your health and safety representative know.
